The first match of the season saw a good turnout of 19 anglers, weather conditions were good apart from the stiff sw breeze.
Fishing was very slow and everyone struggled , from the results you could see it was about being in the right place at the right time, and one person who managed this was young Henry Randell who stormed ahead with 11 fish for 2lb 2 1/2oz, while those near him could only look and wonder how he was catching when everyone else was struggling.
2nd place went to old hand Russell Barber who had 3 fish for 1lb 3 1/3 including a good flounder at 34cm (11 1/3oz) , third place went to another old hand John "silverfox" Neave who had 8 fish for 1lb 2 2/3, final podium spot went to Peter"Inspector" Morse with 7 fish for 1lb 1 2/3, it was nice to see some different names in the top 4,with the normally consistent anglers struggling to find anything worth recording.
All in all everyone bar Simon "TackleWhore" Farrow managed to find fish and in total 79 fish were caught and returned alive.
Lets hope after the easter break the fishing improves and we see some good matches.
Well done to everyone who turned up to support the club and we hope to see everyone on the 11th April.
