As ever, the weather continued its relentless assault on the match scene.
This time it was a freezing Easterly taking the wind chill factor to well below zero.
There’s an old saying about Easterlies and your fishing prospects, and though both Tony Chidwick (peg 14) and Tony Thomas (peg15) had fish on their first cast, (usually the kiss of death anyway!!) the old adage was once again set to prove true.
In fact T.T’S first cast double shot of a small dab and a magnificent 1lb 4oz Flounder would prove to be enough to do the damage early on.
From there on, most anglers struggled to record even a single fish with several blanking.
T.T added another couple of dab to his tally and Ricky Hayward (peg 13) took the second place spot with a few dab and a late double shot of two small Flounder.
The only round fish of the entire match was a ‘pin’ Whiting that fell to Peter Loke.
Keith Morley ‘s two Dab were sufficient to see him take the third spot, beating Tony Chidwick out of the places by 3cm
