HSAC Cley Sunday 20th Sept

After last weekends terrible weather and the Trimmingham match abandoned after an hour or so, we were all looking forward to a bit of sport at Cley.

Even with several people away we managed a good turnout but the fish didn’t show in any numbers, Richard "Golden Bollox" Ives and Peter "Baglady" Simmons both walked the distance in search of good flounder and possible Bass and both were rewarded, Richard very early on had snared a flounder and the rest of us were still blanking.

Dene "Smoooth" Conway also managed to find a flounder half way through the match at 27cm , but within minutes Robert "Camouflage" Ford had an even better speciman at 33cm closely followed by a Dab to push him up to 49 pts, enough to secure second place overrall, meanwhile Colin "Mr. Grumpy" Howard had also found a a Flounder but the others seemed to be struggling, Nicole "Ow my finger" Conway did find a fish but it was an undersized Bass.

Anyone could win but it was that man again who found the lucky fish in his final cast a nice plump Bass of 1lb 14 2/3 which was enough to blow the competition away, provng that his consistency is still there, well done Peter "Baglady" Simmons.

3rd: Richard Ives 2 fish for 0lb 14 2/3oz

4th: Dene Conway 1 fish for 0lb 7oz
