By Dene Conway A good turn out of 12 anglers including two new female members , Nicole “Ow my finger” Conway & Selina “shepee” Harper, prepared to do battle at Sheringham to the left of the Lifeboat station.

Weather was cold and slightly windy but the forecast was for the winds to get up stronger and this proved to be correct as towards the end of the match most of us just wanted it to be overwith.

Robert, wondering why we bother sometimes…

4 members walked round to the point in search of the bigger whiting , these were Tony “Last Cast” Thomas, Richard “Golden Bollox” Ives, Henry Randell and Peter Loke. The reflectors on the cliffs was the spot Dene, Robert, Nicole & Selina chose as the boys would be showing the ladies the ropes we had decided this would be the best spot for them to practice their casting without killing any other members.

Both ladies proved that they can fish and cast, and both caught fish, the majority being undersized including a Coalfish for Nicole, Selena however managed to get a sizeable dab at 24cm and this proved enough to record her first podium finish, which is very good for a new member.

The rest of the club were spread out in the first two bays, and with poor activity a few decided to call it a day early.

In the end it proved to be a bad match for most as only 4 members caught fish with 8 blanking.

Hanging on to his title Tony “Last Cast” Thomas took the honours with two fish (a whiting and a flounder) for 1lb 6oz, closely followed by that man again Dene “smoooth” Conway also with 2 fish a dab and a flounder for 14oz., giving Dene a total of 33 points in 3 matches and three 2nd places in a row, can his current form last??

3rd place went to Robert “Camo” Ford with a Dab for 6oz and 4th place to our new member Selina “shepee” Harper also with a Dab for 4 2/3oz.

The elusive Big Foot theory at Sheringham !!

Big foot rumours at Sheringham have now been solved as we see it was only Robert ” BigFoot” Ford after watering the cliffs, but the remblance is pretty scary…..
