HSAC 2011 AGM Report

The club’s 2011 AGM was held at the Kelling Heath Holiday Park on the afternoon of Saturday 26^th March 2011.  Fourteen members attended the meeting with three members sending their apologies.  The meeting was very productive with a lot of sensitive issues that had been around for some time being resolved during the three hour meeting.

The 2010-2011 season’s Chairman’s and Treasurer’s reports were presented and accepted by the meeting.  Although the club made a loss during the year some of this was due to clearing previous years’ costs and some one off costs for last year.  The chairman pointed out that with a healthy membership similar to previous years the club should be able to at least break even if not have a small surplus next year.

Existing members who did not attend the AGM can request the above reports from the chairman.

The meeting voted in the following committee for 2011-2012 …

This is a very strong team to move the club forward and build on all the consolidation work done by Dene over the past 2-3 years,  thank-you Dene!

The meeting agreed the following rules/changes for 2011-2012 …

• Membership fees for existing members would remain the same as last year at £15.
• Membership fees for new members would increase from £7.50 to £10.
• All new members will be able to fish their first club match without paying a membership fee to see if they really want to join the club.  They will still be required to pay the match fees and will be required to pay membership if they fish subsequent club matches.
• Information packs will now only be given to New members and Existing members who have not received one.
• Matches fees will remain at £2 along with the 50p meal fund charge for those who will be participating in the end of season presentation evening. Any meal fund monies not claimed for the evening will go to club funds. In addition to the above, a 50p levy is being introduced at each match which will go directly to club funds.  The £1 access/parking charge will still apply where the venue requires it, i.e. Bacton, Cley, Kelling.  The maximum charge per match will now be £4.
• Size limits at all club matches will be DEFRA limits for Bass (36 cm), Codling (35 cm) and Whiting (27 cm) with all other fish 18 cm.
• The 3 point rule for undersize fish has been dropped except for Juniors who will still be allowed to record 3 weight points for all undersize fish.
• It is planned that venues for 2011-2012 will be more varied than last year but will generally be located along the North Norfolk coast.  Fixture venues will be determined by the committee who will also determine if a match is either pegged or rover.
• The club will be entering teams in the 2011-2012 Sea Angler Clubman competitions.  For this season the members for these teams will be selected by the committee.  The teams for future years will be selected from the final club league table at the end of the season.  The meeting agreed that any prizes won by both teams and individuals in this competition should be donated to club funds.
• The club will also be entering teams in the 2011-2012 North Norfolk National Sea league.
• The committee will investigate ways in which new members and novices can be instructed by existing members.
