Wednesday Evening Holt SAC and Sabre Tackle Match 2
''A NIGHT OF THE LIVING RED'' !!
A dreary, Damp and sultry day turned into a rather pleasant evening for our Holt SAC and Sabre Tackle Wednesday Evening Match 2 at Trimingham beach, well weather wise that is! Deciding to peg to the right, the 'wrong way round' and Bulch Style ready for the draw at 6pm...Thirteen Keen Anglers drew their cards and confidently hiked off to there designated pegs...The whistle blew at 7pm and from there on it was A Night of the Living Red Weed!! To start with it seemed more was being heaved in the west side but after a couple hours or so the Red Weed Monsters of doom that seem to have made a home for themselves in the North sea over this Summer were being landed by Everyone! Speedy (Pikey) Muirhead you really missed out on a good one! Apart from the Dreaded Red there were a 'few' fish carded.
On Peg 14 Mark (Mega Bite) Borley managed an Eel that put points on his card. Next along on peg 13 Jake (Giving it Large) Cooper managed 4 different species, even though small they still gave him 70 points and with the conditions as they were stood good chance of a podium spot and being a few pegs away from the 'Bulch' this week he got away with having his Eel put down his Chest waders! On peg 12 Pete (I missed this so much) Fairclough managed to wangle out 5 fish amongst his ever increasing pile of red and a very good chance of a podium spot. A little further along Tony (Water Skiing Yoda) Thomas who persevered with his bruised leg managing to slip out an Eel for points after having lost a rig only shortly before and then seeing Jake (Giving it large) Cooper reel it in minutes later with a 29cm Dab on it! It couldn't count of course...Next along on peg 10 and back from doing extra Taxi work through the Summer Holidays Wayne (Shiny Reels) Clarke managed a small pup to card his first points. On Peg 9 Mr Henry (Copper Rod) Randell found a couple Dabs amongst his ever increasing Weed problem and much to Christian (Green Cobra) Bulch's dismay as he himself on peg 8 couldn't find a fish, only crabs.
Just over the Break water on peg 7 Paul 'Rod Snapper' Kendrick joined him in the Blanker Club. On peg 6 Charlie 'I cant wait for the next match' Needham sneaked out one of those pups to card some points too. With no one on peg 5 slightly further along on peg 4 Tom (Off Duty) Gibbs wooed out 3 fish giving him a chance of a podium spot. Next door on peg 3 Trevor (Red Rod) Elliot had an unlucky start practise casting out his new Verselli Continental and having it snap...that will be sent back I'm sure. On peg 2 Martin (Dingit) Waters managed 3 fish for 52 points to give him a chance of a podium spot and finally our winner from last week and again on peg 1, Alan (Huey) Doy managed to join the other two in this weeks Blankers Club.
On the podium this week and in third spot by 1/3 of and oz was Tom Gibbs with three fish for 1lb 1oz 2/3 and in Second spot was Pete Fairclough with five fish for 1lb 4oz 2/3 and in First place and doing one better than our last match 'one' was Jake Cooper with 4 fish for 1lb 7oz 1/3...Biggest Flat went to Tom Gibbs with a 26cm Dab, Biggest round went to our Slippery Winner Jake Cooper with an eel worth 26pts and Lucky peg went to Martin Waters...Well done everyone on the night, it wasnt easy at all but the weather was nice and the company and Banter was awesome. Great to see the new faces too which is making these matches Top Banana!
Our Next match 3 is on the 9th September and is planned for Kelling, same times meet up at the gate at 6pm...Tight Lines Folks
